La moisson des oiseaux / Birds harvest

A l'automne nous avions monté une cabane à oiseaux dans le jardin. Je vous l'avais déjà montrée. Durant tout l'hiver nous l'avons abondamment garnie de toutes sortes de graines (blé, seigle, avoine, tournesol....) Avec le retour des beaux jours, les oiseaux l'ont désertée pour se nourrir dans la nature alentour. Mais peu à peu nous avons vu pousser tout autour du pied des épis de blé, de seigle, d'avoine... dont les oiseaux avaient fait tomber les graines pendant l'hiver. J'ai protégé avec soin cette future moisson en donnant des consignes à ceux qui tondaient le gazon tout autour. Et voici le petit motif que ces semailles inattendues m'ont inspirée.

Last fall (autumn) we built a birdhouse in our garden. I already showed you the photo. During the whole winter we provided seeds in it : corn, rye, oast, sunflowers... When spring was back, the birds left the birdhouse to find their food in nature all around. Yet slowly we noticed that ears of corn, rye and oast were apearing. They were growing from all the seeds that birds let falling in winter. I decided to protect this unexpected harvest, telling to everybody mowing the grass around it not to cut my cereals. And now you can see what design this event inspired me.
